Writing may be difficult for you if you are not used to doing it regularly. If you have always wanted to write a book, it may be a good idea to start out by writing articles. Articles are shorter and can be submitted to article directories for publication. You can see other people's reaction to your writing before you write anything that takes more time and effort on your part. Here are 7 reasons to write articles while you are writing a book:
* Writing articles gives you a chance to find your voice. You may think you wanted to write about one topic and find out very quickly that it is really another topic that is closer to what you are interested in.
* Articles are typically about three hundred to five hundred words. You can write that much in about an hour so you haven't spent weeks or months writing about something that may not be of interest to anyone.
* When you submit your articles to an article directory you will get immediate feedback from readers. If the title or summary are not of interest or not well written, very few people will read your articles. On the other hand, you may find that your topic is of great interest to people and your writing may become very popular.
* After you have written several articles on the same topic, you can combine them and give them away to people as a short report or special report. These reports can be used as a way to add people to your list.
* If you still have an interest in writing a book you can use your articles to get your book written more easily. Decide on your chapter headings and then write articles that would logically go into each chapter. This will help you to write your book while building a list of people who would be interested in purchasing it from you once it is finished.
* Titles are the most important thing to consider when you write a book. Writing articles gives you a chance to test out various titles to see which ones are more appealing to your market.
* You can submit your articles to offline publications like magazines, newspapers, and periodicals. While you are waiting to hear from these editors your articles will still be available on the internet.
